Greensand Country Festival helps combat anxiety and raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Week

May 2023

This year’s Greensand Country Festival got underway on May Day and has already featured a number of exciting events, including King’s Coronation celebrations, Morris dancing, history talks, fun runs and much more.

This week (15 – 21 May), in recognition of Mental Health Awareness week, events are taking place across the landscape to support mental health and wellbeing, including walks, talks, and mindfulness days in the woods.

The annual Festival, will continue throughout May and into the start of June, from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, with local people encouraged to come along and explore more of the unique and much-loved landscape on their doorstep.

The festival, which has been hosted by the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership since 2018, aims to promote a wide range of events taking place across the local area, encouraging people to discover more of Greensand Country and its beautiful parks, woodlands, heritage sites, attractions and much more.
