Western Parkland Walk

Tuesday 17th May 2022 10:00 - 13:00

Doors open: 9:45 am

A 3.5 mile guided walk around the Greensand Country ‘Western Parkland Trail’, taking in the parklands at Aspley Park and Crawley Park, and the stunning wider landscape, at a fantastic time of year.  Led by Greensand Trust Director of Development Jon Balaam, and Bedfordshire Gardens Trust Volunteer Sheila Meekums, the walk involves woodland, parkland, meadows and some stunning panoramic views.  Participants will learn more about the estates that have helped shape the Greensand Country landscape and create a strong ‘sense of place’.

The walk will take between 2.5 and 3 hours, and will be at a leisurely pace.  Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead.  There are some moderate hills to climb, but also time to rest at the top and take in the views!

The walk is free of charge (donations to help maintain the signage and interpretation is welcome), but booking is essential – please contact: jon.balaam@greensandtrust.org by Friday 13th May to book your place.
