Wellbeing in Nature session

Saturday 28th January 2023 10:00 - 12:00

Join us on a guided natural wellbeing walk – a chance to unwind and calm our minds as we connect to nature.

During this gentle walk, you’ll have the chance to experience how nature can support our mental health and wellbeing. As part of the session, you will be guided to mindfully connect to nature and explore what the season has to offer.

The walk is based on the principles of forest bathing, which is the practice of slowing down and immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of the woods. This has many proven benefits for our mental health and wellbeing – helping us to reduce stress, improving our energy levels and even boosting our immune system.

Ampthill Great Park is a beautiful place with over 150 acres of parkland and woodland to explore, as well as incredible views from the Greensand Ridge.

What to bring:

  • warm and comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for the weather,
  • an extra layer or two – in case you start to feel cold while moving slowly or sitting,
  • a bottle of water,
  • something lightweight to sit on, such as a mat or blanket.

The terrain will include slopes and uneven ground. Please let us know in advance of the walk if you have any accessibility or other needs we need to be aware of, by emailing nicola.scholfield@bedsrcc.org.uk

Please leave your pets at home. The sessions are for people aged 18 and over. In the event of extreme adverse weather – including heavy rain, high winds or storms – the session will be postponed.

On booking, please supply a mobile phone number and email address. This is so that we can email you prior to the event with more details, and contact you in case we need to postpone the event.

This event is being funded by Central Bedfordshire Council and supported by Ampthill Town Council.
