Tree identification for beginners

Sunday 09th July 2023 10:30 - 12:00

Despite their size and importance, it is often very easy to forget about trees. Most of us will pass several trees each day on our commute, or to pick up the shopping, and probably have no idea of what those trees are – but now help is at hand!

Join our volunteer and tree enthusiast Andy to learn some basic tree identification skills at The Lodge Reserve and Gardens. It’s the perfect event for beginners looking to take the first steps in tree ID, or for people with some experience to consolidate their knowledge. It will also be an opportunity to see some of the great trees The Lodge has to offer.

Bring binoculars and tree guides if you have them, but neither are essential. Both are for sale in the shop and binoculars can also be rented.

Please note, the event will involve walking over uneven ground and is not suitable for anyone using a wheelchair. Please contact us prior to purchasing any tickets if you have any mobility issues.

Although children are welcome to attend, this event is aimed at adults, and they might become bored!

We will meet in the picnic area next to the Gatehouse shop.

Ticket includes parking.
