Rushmere and Stockgrove: Before the Trees

Free Zoom talk delivered by Stephen Coleman.

The talk will examine the history of each of the seven landscape components which have been brought together in Rushmere Park, and will touch upon former common heathland, rabbit warrens (including legal disputes and their resolution, sheep walks, the impact of parliamentary enclosure, ancient woodland, lakes and ponds, a brick kiln and its fuel supply, and the establishment of coniferous tree plantations.
