Ride Out UK Bluebell Pleasure Ride

Sunday 08th May 2022 09:30 - 14:00

BHS Bedfordshire’s Ride Out UK Bluebell Ride offers a fabulous opportunity to explore this lovely part of Bedfordshire.  There is a choice of two distances – approximately 7.5 miles or 12 miles.

The routes are on public and permissive bridleways and country and village lanes and should give you the chance to admire the lovely bluebells in the woods!  Please note that both distances involve crossing the M1 twice on bridleway bridges with parapets.

The ride is raising money for the BHS Ride Out UK fund which provided funding for bridleway projects across the country – including Bedfordshire! – and also for local BHS access work.

Rosettes for all. Photographer and medical support on duty and light refreshments available from the Wakes End Farm Café.

ALL HORSES MUST BE VACCINATED – minimum first two injections (at least 6 days before the event) or annual booster in up to date record. Random checks may be carried out.

Maximum group size is 5 and you can buy 5 tickets at once BUT you will need a lot of information about the other riders, their emergency contact details, their insurance, vaccination record etc. so it may be easier to buy individually.   ENTRIES CLOSE Tuesday 3rd May at 11.45pm unless the ride is full before that date.

Start time windows of half an hour will be allocated after entries close and will be emailed to you in the week before the ride.  Starts are between 9.30am and noon but those starting after 11am may only do the shorter, 7.5 miles, route.  We will do our best to meet your start window requests but this cannot be guaranteed – priority will be given in the order of booking.

Should government guidance require us to implement covid related procedures you will be notified of these in advance.

This ride is one of multiple events taking place across Greensand Country as part of the Greensand Country Festival in May & June 2022. Defined by the Greensand Ridge, the new name for the distinct, beautiful and loved countryside from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, Greensand Country is rich in wildlife and cultural heritage just waiting to be explored.
