Platinum Jubilee Concert
Thursday 02nd June 2022 14:00 - 22:00
Doors open: 1:30 pm
The communities of Sandy, Beeston and the surrounding area are invited to an outdoor concert in the grounds of Sandye Place on Thursday 2nd June 2022 in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The event will be free to enter and will not be ticketed.
Follow the Facebook event page and check back for regular updates about the event, including line-up announcements.
As well as a variety of live music performances, the event programme will include the presentation of the Mayor of Sandy’s Community Awards and the lighting of a beacon, to form part of a beacon chain across the UK and Commonwealth on 2nd June 2022. Away from the stage, there will also be family activities and local information stands.
There will be separate spaces for standing or dancing by the stage and for sitting to enjoy the music with a picnic. Visitors will enjoy a street food market including hot food stalls and bars and are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks.
The main event space is on large open playing fields, so guests are advised to wear suitable footwear and invited to bring their own camping chairs and blankets. When the beacon is lit at the end of the concert, the site will be dark, so guests are advised to bring a torch. Dogs will not be allowed into the event site.
There will be no vehicles access or parking on the site. We would encourage attendees to walk to the event if possible, or to park in one of the car parks around the town centre:
- Town Centre Car Park, High Street, Sandy, SG19 1AG – FREE
- Sandy Station Car Park, Station Road, Sandy, SG19 1AW – PAID
