Ampthill Park

This 70ha site is located on the northern escarpment of the Greensand Ridge, and is designated as a County Wildlife Site.  It is Bedfordshire’s largest acid grassland site, but also contains areas of scrub, woodland and ponds, lakes and wet flushes.  The woodlands support 8 species of bats, including serotine and barbastelle, while other notable and protected species include great crested newts and ivy-leaved water crowfoot.

Walking access only within the Park.  Car parking available.  A range of walking trails exist within the site, and the Greensand Ridge Walk passes through it.
