‘All Along’ by Emily Tracy. A Series of new artworks commissioned by Greensand Country Landscape Partnership (Exhibition)

Monday 17th May 2021 10:00 - Monday 31st May 2021 10:00

Doors open: 10:00 am

Greensand Country Landscape Partnership are thrilled to present artist Emily Tracy’s new work ‘All Along’, as part of their commissioned programme of work celebrating Greensand Country.

‘All Along’ refers to a sewn binding of books, and to the idea of moving through and along the Greensand Ridge, reflecting the story of the area through its geology, nature and people that have lived within Greensand Country.

This series of new artworks uses books, and their form, to respond to the unique landscapes and historic parklands of Greensand Country.  ‘All Along’ has been created in response to research made together with Greensand Country volunteers.  Supported by Greensand Country Landscape Partnership, the volunteers underwent training in Historical Research, Oral History and Archiving in January 2021 and have worked together as a team to research stories, gather information and contribute pieces for one of the art works. With thanks to Daniel Bowles, Mariella Cook, Dorothy Jamieson, Peter Goff, Sian Griffiths, Kelvin Horton, Molly Lambourne, Mark Lewis, David McKears, Sheila Meekums, and Sandra Reed.

The exhibition is launched in partnership with Shuttleworth, who are housing the exhibition in the Garden Room (found within the exquisite Swiss Garden).
